Creating our best connections for your school and community.

Our aim is to support the health, wellbeing, learning and developmental outcomes for children, families and communities.

Embracing Diversity

Early years

Jabiru’s Early Years Place provides free services for all families with a child aged 0–8 residing in North Brisbane. Activities include supported Playgroups, home visits, Early Learning support, facilitated workshops for parents and supported access to health specialists and other services. Our programs are delivered by qualified Early Childhood and Human Service workers.

Theory meets practice

School-age

Student Wellbeing Officers (SWOs) deliver student welfare services that provide emotional, social and wellbeing support for children, families and staff and enhanced engagement with the broader community.

Young People

Young people

We support young people and their families through informal mentoring, providing a safe space and access to free community and social engagement opportunities. Our Student Wellbeing Officers, or Youth Support Coordinators, become their bridge between school, family and community.

Community Connection

Families

As part of our purpose – which is to inspire children to live with purpose – we bring the play and connection to you. We work with families to: support parenting knowledge, skills and confidence; strengthen relationships between child and parent; build family’s social connections, access to services and wellbeing support; and, provide information and referrals for families who have concerns about their children’s development and learning.

Community engagement.

Community is who we are, and what we do.That means we take every opportunity we can to get out and about, connecting with our neighbours and bringing together community members who don’t always have the opportunity to be involved with OSHC.
Community Engagement

Out and about in your community.

Play Meets

Learning through play doesn’t just belong at the school yard. We hit the road with engaging programs that foster relationships and support the wellbeing of children and families.

Park Play

Families are welcome to come along for a great morning in the park, enjoy free activities, chat to local services, and be part of a community. Come along and be part of it all.

Pop-up Play Bus

The Pop-up Play Bus is a mobile play bus for 0-8-year-olds. The Play Bus visits community events, primary schools and OHSC sites, with fun activities focusing on Jabiru’s own Practice Framework.
