Trust is our foundation
Our organisation is hardwired into our every action and interaction. Here’s what that looks like with our children, families and each other as Sashi Ritchie explains.
At Jabiru, trust really has to be at the heart of everything we do. I remember one situation where a family joined us whose child had specific dietary needs. The family was understandably concerned, so we focused on truly listening and responding with care.
We worked closely with the child and family—collaborating on menus, grocery shopping for suitable foods, and making sure every Educator knew the child’s dietary requirements. We also gave the family regular updates about their child’s progress and always responded with empathy to any concerns. This built a strong foundation of trust and helped the child settle into our care with confidence, providing real reassurance for their parents.
Across the board, the trust between Jabiru teams is just as strong. Whether it’s during pre-shift muster meetings, staff catchups, or when Head Office checks in with encouragement and guidance, you feel heard and supported. And when children, families, and staff all feel safe and valued, that’s when real impact is made.
